For those of you who like me have the windows XP operating system. You might find that theres alot to be said for it!!! I honestly love it But to squeeze more performance and over goodness out of it, use a program like Tweak XP fromwww.tweakxp.com

Your PC as do all other pc's has a registry which stores info on all the files in your PC. When you add or delete a file or program. It leave a trace in the registry. As you can imagine this throws a wrench in the old "performance" machine. I recommend you use a program like RegSupreme fromwww.jv16.org
NOTE: I recommend before you use this program to first back up the registry. Choose RUN from your start menu, Type regedit and hit enter, Click the file menu choose export, give the file a name like the date. Then run RegSupreme!!

Everyone knows the importance of an anti-virus. The reason for an anti-virus is that there are Idiots out there with alot of programming talent, who are awnry and want to make hell for the rest of us!! If you can't afford a good anti-virus like McAfee or Norton, Or like me, you like free stuff!!! Get anti-vir fromwww.free-av.com

Now you know all those pop-ups that you get even when your pop up blocker is turned on? Different sites you go to and emails you open put things on your pc called ad-ware, This is programs that track what you do and send those pop-ups. They can also potentially make your Browser go to pages you don't want!! So download and run a program ad-ware SE from www.lavasoft.de

Here another little something!! Windows XP has a task manager!!! But theres alot of stuff running on your machine that is hidden from windows task manager!!!! and some of these things aren't needed or are not good for your pc, and your mental health HAHA!!! Do you ever look at the amount of space on your hard drive and wonder what the hell is take up all the space? I have a little program the gives you a graphic visual of the stuff on your hard drive and is proportionate! it is called space monger from www.werkema.com

A good way to keep your computer running healthy is a hard drive defragmentation once a week! Now I know your saying:" Hey I already have a defrag'er it comes with windows stupid!!!" but the oem defragger is very good!!! I have one that puts stuff in the right places to maximize performance!!
